Seedbox (Ludwigia alternifolia)
Seedbox (Ludwigia alternifolia)
This wide spread and unique species shows us that cubes and 90° angles do indeed exist in nature.
Seedbox is a moist soil loving species. Doing well in raingardens and wet prairies, edges of swamps, bogs and marshes, this tenacious perrenial is an excellent choice beside Marsh Milkweed, Giant Hyssops, Dogbane, Spikenard, Canada Milk Vetch, Wild Indigos, American Bellflowers, and Turtleheads!
This plant is frequently visited by native bees who pollinate so efficiently that each fruit produces thousands of seeds each, making this plant a prolific self seeder but will happily yield to other mature established native species.
