Native to the Northern Midwest, and Northeastern United States, this plants fuzzy bells bring in all the early season pollinators to visit its diminutive tubular flowers filling them full with pollen and nectar, and perhaps a bit love drunk to boot.

Growing well in all kinds of conditions, from full sun, to dappled shade, to streams edge wet, to bone dry, slightly sandy or clay, Hairy Beardtongue truly lends itself to a plethora of plots, from the prairie, the forest, or nestled into the foreground of your native yardens.

Attracting early season bumblebees, sweat bees, mason bees, and even first to arrive Hummingbirds, this Beardtongue fits the bill, and gets the buzz treatment before everything else aside from spring ephemerals.

Like most Beardtongues (Penstemons) this plant is fairly easy to grow, and is a well behaved, long lived perrenial, making it an ideal choice for home landscaping.
